Determining the Management of Fever and Anxiety Levels of Mothers Presenting to the Hospital with Fever Complaints

Abstract

Objective: The aim of the study was to determine fever management and anxiety levels in mothers who applied to the hospital with complaints about their children's fever. Methods: The research is of descriptive type. It was conducted with the mothers of children who came to the pediatric emergency clinic of a public hospital between December 2021 and July 2022, and who complained of fever at least once between the ages of 0-7. The sample of the research consisted of 250 mothers. “Introductory Information and Fever Management Form” and “Stability and Continuity Anxiety Scale” were used in data collection. In statistical evaluation of the data, descriptive statistics were calculated and Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis H tests were used for group comparisons. The limit of p0.05). Conclusion: In the case of fever, more than half of the mothers have a moderate level of state antite, and the majority of them have a mild level of trait anxiety. There was no significant difference between fever management and anxiety levels.

Amaç: Araştırmada çocuğunun ateş şikâyeti ile hastaneye başvuran annelerde ateşin yönetimi ve kaygı durumlarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yöntem: Araştırma, tanımlayıcı türdedir. Aralık 2021-Temmuz 2022 tarihleri arasında bir kamu hastanesinin çocuk acil kliniğine gelen, 0-7 yaş aralığında ateş şikayeti ile en az bir kez karşı karşıya gelmiş çocukların anneleri ile gerçekleştirilmiştir.
