Subepithelial connective tissue grafts (SCTGS) in periodontology
Abstract
Periodontal plastic surgery applications have increased in modern dentistry as the importance of patients to their appearance. For this purpose, many techniques and flap designs have been used to treat gingival recession, but subepithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG) seems to be the gold standard procedure. SCTGs can be harvested from several areas in the mouth such as maxillary tuberosity and palate with different approaches which can affect graft quality and postoperative complications. In this section, rationale of SCTG, harvesting techniques, clinical success and possible postoperative complications will be discussed in the light of literature. © 2020 Nova Science Publishers, Inc..
