Cancer prevention and screenings
Özet
Cancer is a social problem and may occur at all ages. In particular, it is a problem with medical, socioeconomic, and psychological aspects, which may also impact human rights. While breast (11.7%), lung (11.4%), colorectal (10%), prostate (7.3%), and gastric (5.6%) cancers were the most commonly diagnosed cancers in the world in 2020, it was indicated that deaths from cancer were mostly due to lung (18.0%), colorectal (9.4%), liver (8.3%), gastric (7.7%), and breast (6.9%) cancers. Nowadays, it is possible to prevent 30-50% of cancers by keeping away from the risk factors and implementing evidence-based prevention strategies. It is necessary to arrange priorities for prevention in compliance with the patterns of cancers and risk factors encountered by a certain country or region by considering more vulnerable subgroups in society. © 2022 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
