The Transformation of an Organizational Form: From Hospitals to Virtual Hospitals
Abstract
The impact of the industrial revolution on business life is well recognized. Technological innovations have played a crucial role in enabling companies to enter an evolutionary phase, which was made possible by the leap experienced during the revolution. Virtual organizations have arisen as a result of advancements in computer, internet, and network technology. As the time passes by, the virtual organizational structures created in this manner have also shown up in the health sector, where virtual hospitals are beginning to become a part of the medical business process, much as they have in other organizational structures. The evolution of hospitals and organizational structures was examined in this study. Additionally, within the context of the literature, the structure, traits, and distinctions of virtual hospitals from traditional hospitals, as well as important issues to be taken into account, are reviewed. Activities via a mobile device can have limited effectiveness. Future studies could focus on further applicability to various contexts in medical education. © 2025 Nova Science Publishers, Inc.
