Black cumin (BC) (Nigella sativa) grows worldwide as a plant used for various diseases as a part of folk medicine for more than 2000 years. The biological activity is mostly based on thymoquinone, p-cymene, and carvacrol which are the main bioactive compounds. Neuroprotective effects of BC have been studied intensively for long years. Unfortunately, we know little about these effects. In this chapter, the neuroprotective effects of BC have been discussed under specific titles. © 2023 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
