Equisetum arvense L.

Abstract

Equisetum arvense L. is an herbaceous perennial plant originated in the northern hemisphere, which is traditionally used as a medicinal ingredient. It is a medicinal herb having been used traditionally and clinically in many countries for thousands of years. Traditional medical practice records about Equisetum arvense L. found in many countries including Brazil, Turkey and Iran, and scientific studies carried out since early twentieth century have supported the idea that the plant can be used as medicine.
