Afyonkarahisar Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniğinde opere edilen meningiom olgularının değerlendirilmesi: retrospektif çalışma

Abstract

Giriş: Bu çalışmamız Afyonkarahisar Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniğinde 1 Ocak 2012 ile 31 Aralık 2020 tarihleri arasında meningiom tanısıyla başvuran ve opere edilen 68 hasta değerlendirilerek yapılmıştır. Amaç: Hastanemize meningiom tanısıyla başvuran ve opere olan olguların; retrospektif olarak yaş, cinsiyet, etyolojik özellikler, başvuru şikayetleri, patolojik ve cerrahi sınıflama, postoperatif takibi içeren sonuçlarımızı literatürle karşılaştırmak ve tartışmaktır. Yöntem: Bu çalışmaya Afyonkarahisar Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Kliniğinde 1 Ocak 2012 ile 31 Aralık 2020 tarihleri arasında meningiom tanısıyla başvuran ve opere edilen 68 hasta dahil edilmiştir. Hastaların hastaneye başvurduklarında çekilen Bilgisayarlı Tomografi (BT) ve Magnetik Rezonans Görüntüleme (MRG) sonucunda her bir hasta preop ve postop durumu incelenmiştir. Çalışma istatiksel olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Tartışma: Genel olarak bening karakterli ve yavaş büyüyen tümörlar olan meningiomlar günümüzde teknolojinin de gelişmesine paralel olarak hastalarda tespit edilme oranı artmış olup, esas tedavisi cerrahi olmakla birlikte üzerine yapılan çalışma sayısı da artmıştır. Simpson cerrahi sınıflaması günümüzde literatürde en sık başvurulan ve kullanışlı cerrahi sınıflamadır, biz de sonuçlarımızı bu sınıflama ve diğer bulgularımız üzerinden literatürle karşılaştırdığımızda, tümörün daha fazla araştırılması gerektiği görülmüştür. Sonuç: Meningiom konulu çok sayıda çalışma olmakla birlikte, daha uzun takip süreleri içeren ve etyolojik parametrelerin daha detaylı araştırıldığı çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır.

Entrance: This research was conducted by evaluating 68 patients who were admitted to Afyonkarahisar Health Sciences University, Faculty of Medicine, Department Of Neurosurgery between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2020 with the diagnosis of meningioma and operated. Objective: Of the cases who applied to our hospital with the diagnosis of meningioma and were operated; Our aim is to compare and discuss our results, including age, gender, etiological features, admission complaints, pathological and surgical classification, postoperative follow-up, with the literature, retrospectively. Material and Method: In this study, 68 patients who were admitted to Afyonkarahisar Health Sciences University Faculty of Medicine between 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2020 with the diagnosis of meningioma and who were operated on were included. As a result of the Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) taken when the patients were admitted to the hospital, the preoperative and postoperative conditions of each patient were examined. The study was evaluated statistically. Discussion: The detection rate of meningiomas, which are generally benign and slow growing tumors, has increased in parallel with the development of technology, and although the main treatment is surgery, the number of studies on it has also increased. Simpson surgical classification is the most frequently used and useful surgical classification in the literature, and when we compared our results with the literature on this classification and our other findings, it was seen that the tumor should be investigated further. Conclusion: Although there are many studies on meningioma, studies with longer follow-up periods and more detailed investigations of etiological parameters are needed.
